Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
I was banned from a restaurant in virginia because the owner heard a rumor that I made a rude comment about his wife. Is it legal for them to kick me out and ban me over something like that? I was a paying customer not causing a scene or anything. If there is anything I can do such as file a complaint or something please point me in the right direction.

Unless the ban was provably connected to one of the protected categories typically enumumerated under federal and/or state/local antidiscrimination laws such as race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, etc., I would say that you're likely without a remedy.
I agree. Your best bet might be an apology or explanation (that you were taken out of context, that you are innocent, that you are happy to continue spending money there, etc) to the owner. A well-worded letter might get you back in there.
