Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
I bought a money order and have the receipt showing I paid by debit card. The receiver has already put it in their account almost 2 months ago. How long do I need to keep the money in my account to cover this debit. Is the money mine after a period of time?

Money Orders
Answer:
When you purchase a money order, the funds are taken immediately. It is for this reason that money orders exist -- to give assurances that the money is really there.
You do not have to keep anything in your account. The amount was already taken.
