Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
My brother and I brought a truck together in hopes of starting a business. He took the truck and sold it. I want the $8500.00 back that I put into the truck. My name isnt on anything but I have the receipt from the money I loaned him. How do I get my money?

Make a demand for the money and then file suit, if necessary. You should consider getting an attorney to help you.
As a Franchise Attorney I, unfortunately, agree with the other attorney answer. There's are two lessons to be learned here. Lesson #1: Don't go into business with relatives; when (not if) things get sticky, it will ruin the relationship. Lesson #2: Put EVERYTHING in writing, drawn up by a good lawyer. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
