Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
The business I work for was sold to another person a few years ago. We have all the files for the business from the previous owner. How long do we need to keep those files or are they no longer necessary since the business is under new ownership? Thank you for any help you can offer.

If it's fewer than three years, better hang on to them. If more, then check
with the previous owner as to whether s/he might want some or all of these records before discarding them.
