Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
The company I worked for let everyone know that the doors were closing the next day. They didn't pay my full wages and when I brought it to their attention they paid me the remaining wages and that check bounced. My husband is owed commission and vacation time. We have sent demand letters to the attorney and have no reply. I have filed with the labor board but since the company is closed there is nothing they can do. What is our next step. I do know that the bank is suing company and all assets are going up for auction. What is next step we should take it trying to get the money that is owed.

You should be able to sue this (apparently now defunct?) company in the same manner as the
bank and any other outstanding creditors, naming as defendant(s) in your complaint (or warrant
in debt) the same as the bank has done and at the same address as listed on its
paperwork filed with the court.
