If you create a product as an employee of a company do you have ownership rights?

Unlikely, unless you're given ownership rights pursuant to a valid
contract with the employer.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. Normally inventions - creations conceived during employment belong to the employer. Of course this general presumption can be varied by a contrary agreement between the parties. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
