Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
employer terminating a written job offer
My wife was offered a position at a company and subsequently gave notice at her current job. The day after leaving her current job and three days before starting her new job, the company terminated the offer letter due to financial reasons. Since she is now unemployed is there any legal recourse to the company for terminating the employment contract.

Re: employer terminating a written job offer
Did you have an actual contract with the new employer? It IS possible that the new employer has breached a contract. But it will depend entirely on what the contract says.
