Yes, that would certainly seem like a distinct possibility in a
so-called employment at will jurisdiction like the Commonwealth.

As a Franchise Attorney I agree with the other attorney answer. Unless you have a written employment contract or are part of a union, the job is "at will." This means either party can terminate for any reason or no reason. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
