Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
I had gotten a gift certificate for Christmas at a salon here in town. The salon is now under new management, the old manager apperently sold a bunch of these certificates and got fired quickly after that for steeling the money.
Now the new manager is saying she cannot honor these cert. anymore because she is loosing money. The buisness is still under the same salon name that the cert. was origionally purchased from and she says she is not leagally bound to honor them? What do I do :(

If this shop is now under new ownership and was purchased without provisions requiring the new owner to honor the previous obligations of the former owner associated with this business, then the new owner/manager would certainly have no obligation now to honor these particular gift certificates.
