interpret virginia code 18.2-499

My former employer has demanded the i cease and disist all efforts to communicate with its customers, there claiming i miappropriated information and seek to use that proprietary information in a new business venture.yes i operate a simular business but i dont have the propietary information they claim i do. there citing virginia code 18.2-499and 18.2-500 as well as virginia common law.

18.2-499 requires a conspiracy, so you need another person acting in concert with you (or having agreed to do so). 18.2-500 provides for civil relief of treble damages for violation of 18.2-499, a criminal statute. You should speak with a lawyer to make sure that what you are doing does not violate their legitimate rights.
