Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

Online Website Consulting disclaimer, terms of use, privacy policy, etc.

My group is planning to offer consulting services online from our website for a fee. we will also e-mail relevent information in a course-like format to our paid users. We need to get an idea of what we need in our disclaimer, privacy policies, terms of use and what ever else to make sure that we are covered on all sides legally. And to let the clients know that they are fully responsible for how they use and interpret our information. We understand that consulting are based on our opinions and we want to make sure that we have no lawsuits put against us for anyone who is unhappy with the results they get from our opinions. Please advise. Thank you.

Re: Online Website Consulting disclaimer, terms of use, privacy policy, etc.

You do need two agreements for your website - a user agreement (with, in part, appropriate warranty, limitation of liability, and intellectual property clauses for your situation) and a privacy policy that specifies your policies regarding the information you will collect from you users (both physical and digital). This should be specific to your situation so more details are required. Check out my website at http://www.internet-legal.com for more information and send me an email if you would like to discuss this.
