Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
What to do if you receive a letter from Aiken Sherriff's Dept in South Carolina asking you to appear in court for South Carolina for fraudlent check, we live in Virginia about 7 hours away? Should I call concerning this because I have never been to South Carolina or do business with anyone in South Carolina?

If it's merely a letter, I think you could respond to it by asking for more information and explaining that you have no connections with the state of South Carolina.
However, if it's in the form of a summons which purports to require you to appear in court in South Carolina on a particular day and time to answer charges, I would not respond to it in any manner (if I were you).
