Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

I had received a settlement and the attorney violated our contract by bypassing our contract and by employing self-help, and paid the outstanding bill. The contract had no such provision for either self-help or anything other than a monthly fee of 1% interest on any monies owed. I have written and asked for my money to which he answered that I said he could have it.. despite our contract reading that any changes to the contract must be in writing and signed by both parties. The funds were to be made out in my name and he had it changed to be wired to his account.

If your attorney has materially violated the terms of the contract

governing his representation of you involving the fee to be

charged as well as, apparently, related matters, then you should consider filing a complaint concerning this matter with the Virginia State Bar (if you haven't already done so) which can be done online from the website at www.vsb.org.
