Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
I was recently employed by a bookkeeping company. I left abrputly under less than amicable terms. I did not sign any covenant not to compete. I did not sign any confidentiality agreement. I did contact the clients. I did all of the work on those client accounts. I told them of my situation. I was sent an e-mail from the company's manager with a stern warning not to contact the clients. The clients are on a month to month basis. I told the clients I would be starting my own practice. I told them they have to make the decisicion based on what is best for their company. Can my former employer take any action against me for contacting clients?
