Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
Restaraunt owner needs to get a name off of the lease of the building.
I own a corporation but I lease the building in which my corporation is operating. I am the sole owner of this corporation but I have a someone who is on the lease with me. How can i get that persons name removed from the lease if they dont want their name removed?

I am unclear as to why this person wants to remain liable on the lease. It would seem to me that one would want to be removed from responsibility unless they have an interest in the building or the tenant. Since the tenant is a corporation and you are sole owner, this is confusing. What is your reason for wanting this person removed? Also, you might meet some resistance from the landlord, who would likely want as many people liable for the rent as possible.
