Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
Must I return to give deposition or can they come to me?
I used to work as a supervisor of a company that engaged in unlawful practices. As a result, I am a defendant in a lawsuit filed in federal court. I no longer live in that city.
Since I am a defendant, must I return to give a deposition? I was under the impression that expert witnesses who live far away have the deposition at their home city.

Re: Must I return to give deposition or can they come to me?
It depends, as does the rule regarding expert witnesses. Generally expert witnesses have to come to the place of the suit. Some courts make all parties go there; others only plaintiffs.
