Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
Small Claims
I am a seamstress and I make curtains for my clients. Recently I have expanded to doing more clients and I have run into the problem of people not paying me. How can I get these people to pay me? I have their work orders, but did not use an agreement for them to sign. But they have accepted the product. Please help.
Thanks

Re: Small Claims
Their work orders and your testimony should be enough for you to file cases against them in small claims court.
However, to avoid all of this hassle, the better approach is to do what I and other attorneys require of our prospective clients: require the payment of the estimated costs of the work up front; otherwise no work will be done.
