Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
I sold a small business (tanning salon we did owner finance payments start March 15th) the new owner has a new lease for the location that started February 1st We agreed for her to take over January 18th I the time she took possession for the sake of time and money my business partner and I signed the agreement and had them notarized. We agreed she could get the papers signed and notarized and return them the next day. After several attempt by phone and e mail we have had no luck getting our copy. She states they are signed but keeps forgetting to drop them off and will not mail them. She has been running the business sense the 18th of January. I still have a set of keys that we were turning over when she returned our copy. What should I do to get me copy? Should I send a certified letter?

Wait until March 15th and see whether this new owner remits her first payment
due on that date. (Then be prepared to pay her a visit in person to collect
more than your copy of this agreement.)
