Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
A technician took two days to install and set a new cruise control. I felt that with numerous problems at the start with the new cruise control, it may be better just to take it out, considering that I may still experience additional problems. The job was to only take 2 to 4 hours and ended taking 9 hours. The owner is an independent audio shop owner with two employees. I had already made payment for the parts and labor. I was told that I would still be responsible for labor cost even if the part was returned. My question is am I responsible for labor cost considering the technician didn't seem to know what he was doing right at the beginning? I am still accountable for inept work?

No, if the job was "botched", so to speak, the labor expended by the shop in
botching it should not be compensable
