Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
If I wanted to sue a business and their corporate office is in a separate state. So the thing that I want to sue for happened in Virginia but the company’s corporate office is registered in Missouri. What state do I file suit?

It really depends. If you are talking about a small claims court action, then you have to file where the defendant is. And in most cases, you will usually file where the defendant either resides or has its principal place of business. But there can be times where it might make sense to file elsewhere like where an action occured or where the plaintiff is.
File in Virginia and then see what happens. They may defend the case in your county, or ask the court to transfer the case to Missouri, or dismiss the case for lack of jurisdiction or improper venue. It's a good question you ask and many times a lawyer has to look hard at the case and figure this out based on the specific facts and circumstances.
Good luck.
