Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia
I was wondering if it is legal for my job to take away 3 days of my salaried pay and suspend me for those three days for failing a mystery shop. They use this tactic to make us want to strive for better results by taking away our pay. Is it legal?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. It's not possible to answer this question without a lot more information. Do you have an employment agreement? Does the employer have an Employee Policy Manual? What do the documents say about the issue you raise. The practice does sound questionable. You can always contact your local employment development or labor department and ask them. They should be able to answer more directly and take corrective action, if necessary. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
