Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

On 12/21/10 was purchasing car from "friend". Car's title was signed over to me without a lien before down payment on car was even made. But we entered a contract stating I would make payments per month until car was paid off. I have all but 3 receipts due to me paying in cash thinking she was a "friend" and wouldnt get over on me. Now she is taking me to court to get the car back that is titled in my name. I do agree to owing balance on car. And will continue to keep my end of the deal. But does she have a legal right to take the car from me?

No; bring your receipts with you for the scheduled hearing in the case along with a copy of the written contract if such exists. (And, if at all possible, offer to pay the balance off before the hearing in return for her withdrawing her case.)
