Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia
Back Ground Checks
I had gone for a job interview and was told they would be doing a background check. I was not worried about it at the time because I didn't think anything would be on it. Well 10 years ago I got arrested for public intoxication and was released the same night but had to pay a fine and court costs. How long does that stay on your record or rather does it ever get taken off if not is there away to have something removed that mistake 10 years ago cost me a good job.

You might consider hiring an attorney to get this expunged from your record.
