Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia
denial of medical treatment
Can a jail be sued for denying an inmate medical treatment that resulted in taking out almost all his intestines and a feeding tube and colostomy inserted? He was sick for 4 days and they did not take him to the hospital resulting in this surgery. Is it hard to sue a jail for this?

Yes, it's possible that the jail authorities and the public entity under whose auspices they operate could be liable for damages under this scenario, but much more information would be required in order to make a more definitive determination on this matter.
