Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia
discovery
if i have doctor notes from one doctor....but have a different doctor on the stand can i ask the doctor on the stand questions from the other doctors notes or do i have to have them both at trial?
i sent a duces tecum out for doctor notes on a patient ...before she sent them i asked the clerk if i could take a copy of them home to study when they arrived....i know they have to have a copy of them there at the clerks office for opposing counsel to see.....she said yes...but when i came to pick them up she said her supervisor said noone could take them out of the office that i had to look at them there......which is ridiculous because you cant have them to study in depth and prepare a witness.....these were copies not originals..was she telling me the truth?
i know that im suppose to share discovery...but does that mean everything?....for instance receipts or a letter that my witness may have?
please help soon
thanks
