personal belongings
can someone hold personal belongings they agreed to babysit our bird until we got a place to live now they don't want to give him back

Make a formal written demand for the return of your bird, offering to compensate this someone for any costs which he or she may have incurred in caring for the bird.
Then, if the person continues to refuse to return your property(the bird), file what's called a warrant in detinue in your local general district
court for the return of your property, or, in the alternative, a judgment for its fair market value against the wrongful withholder.
