Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

property

My boyfriend worked for a man that ran his own lawn business. he was not paying my boyfriend on time or what he was supposed to. so he quit but the boss when out of the country on a different job for 5 weeks and left his stuff at our house. Now he wants to sue to be compensated for some damaged plants and he wants his wood from our back yard. He also came to my house when I was not home busted in my front door and tonight he went in my backyard and took some wood while I was not home. He says he is comming with the police tomorrow to get his wood. Can he do this?

He is not allowed on your property(trespassing)to retrieve his wood and other property unless you permit him to do so. He can, however, sue in general district court for the return of these items by filing what's called a warrant in detinue.
