Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

Property

I received a letter from an individual who is threatening to sue me because of another man (Who keeps firewood on my land) cut down a dead tree in the woods on his property. The letter states that I am his agent thuis responsible. I did not give him permission nor do I pay him for anything. I just let him keep his wood on my property. Who is responsible?

Re: Property

Depends.

Sounds like the neighbor needs to show his hand, not just threaten.

Try to mediate it, and get the information you need to make a decision about what course of action makes the most sense for you!

Re: Property

The man who cut down the dead tree on your neighbor's property apparently without first obtaining the neighbor's

permission would be responsible for any compensable damages which he may have caused by his action.
