Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia
Does a public school have the right to refuse to give a parent their childs cell phone if it is confiscated in school? The school has a policy that they will not give it to the parent for 7 days. I went to the school to get it and they told me I had to come back in 3 more days and then I can pick it up.

The school's refusal to return the phone is not absolute but only for a
period of seven days and therefore I believe lawful under
current applicable laws and regulations.
