Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia
Request for new trial
I won a civil case back in march. The defendant (my ex) is now seeking a motion for a new trial citing incompetency on the part of his lawyer. Do you think he will be awarded a new trial?

Re: Request for new trial
No idea, as you have not given us all the facts. Its not likely, that's for sure. New trials are not granted very often and they are not granted because one claims an attorney is incompetent after they got a result they did not like.
