I am separating from the military and moving to my home state of South Carolina. Can I break my current lease if I am separating from Active Duty?

No, not without a penalty. You are allowed to prematurely terminate your lease in the Commonwealth, if you've received new military orders which require you to take up a new duty station 50 or more miles from where you're currently assigned, but as I understand this exemption it is not applicable to the circumstance which you've described.
