Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

I am a sister of a local sorority Alpha Beta Psi, Beta Chapter, located in Farmville, VA. Our sisters are all students of Longwood University. The Director of Honour and Judicial Relations at the university is sending out what we feel is a libelous letter as a means to scare girls into not associating with us. We have personally met with and addressed the Director to point out what information is false and he still refuses to edit it, and says it will continue to be sent out to possible pledges and new members. Any suggestions? How do we handle what seems to be a case of libel?

You might wish to consult with a local attorney who is experienced and knowledgeable concerning the tort of libel in the Commonwealth and who can review this letter.

Without reviewing the actual letter (or the language used therein) as well as other relevant facts/circumstances, it would be difficult to offer an opinion.
