Legal Question in Technology Law in Virginia

unauthorized use of pictures I took

my daughters have taken dance for

many years and over the years I

have taken many pictures of them

and the other students at their

previous dance studio which i often

shared with friends and the dance

studio. the studio is now using some

of my pictures for advertising and

display purposes in brochures, on

web sites and in the studio. can they

do this without my permission?

Quite probably (assuming that none of these pictures are protected by copyright, and because of your previous sharing are effectively considered in the public domain).
