Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Virginia
fourth amendment violation
Long court hearing proceedings. Long and short of it is that I was charged with a felony assault and battery on an officer on my wedding night when security was called in for some broken glass while staying at a hotel. They broke in without a warrant and alleged that I assulted the officer. This was eventually thrown out of court due to the fact it was a violation of my rights. In court, the officer lied as well as the security officer of the hotel. Before the court hearings I personally could not get a copy of the police record that had the hotel report tied to it. Is it my right now that the case has been heard to get a copy of that report so that I may compare it to my court report that I had taken during the procedings? My lawyer that got me off on these charges isnt the type of lawyer to handle these types of cases but imforms me that I definately have a strong case against this hugh hotel icon for many different charges. I am also interested in seeking justice in other avenues. Please help me.

Re: fourth amendment violation
The kind of report which you are referring to would necessarily have to be turned over to you and your attorney during the course of the discovery process in your civil suit(s)against the hotel and whoever else is responsible for your damages.
