freedom of information

I was a victim of assault, two people wrote statements after being read their rights, but they told different stories in trial, I want a copy of those statements,

I have not asked the investigatior who took the statements because I was also on trial, My court appointed attorney will not give me a copies because his office said ''he got them from my first lawyer'',

the trial has ended,

How do I get copies?

If your lawyer was from the local public defender's office, you could ask one of the supervisor's of this agency about getting a copy of those statements. (The excuse offered for denying your request makes no sense).

Also, if you yourself file suit in regard to this assault, your attorney should be able to obtain copies of them during the pretrial discovery process.
