Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Virginia

I am a newly convicted felon and i live in the state of Virgnia. I moved in with my grandparents and my grandfather has several guns with no safe. Can I live there without breaking any laws?

Should be no problem as long as you in no way, shape or form possess any of your grandfather's guns. (It would be better, however, if your grandfather kept these guns in a locked cabinet to which only he had the key.)
