Legal Question in Construction Law in Virginia
Construction Law - Virginia
We are having an issue in our basement where the builder terminated a drain pipe directly UNDER the edge of the foundation of our basement causing large cracks. We are wondering whether there is a law regarding basements in our state of Virginia. And if there is, for how long is the builder responsible for problems such as this one?

Your remedy for this problem would appear to lie with your contract with the builder and any applicable warranties which it might contain regarding the problm described rather than any laws prescribed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
