Legal Question in Construction Law in Virginia
New home
My husband and I signed a contract a few months ago on our new home with the builder. In the past few weeks my husband has noticed things with the foundation and the chimney that are not structually correct. If there is an issue that the builder will not resolve with those things is there a way out of this contract.

Re: New home
First you need to bring the alleged problems with the house construction to the builder's attention and allow him the opportunity to correct them.
However, if the builder fails to correct these problems, then you should arrrange for a consultation with an attorney who has experience with residential construction contracts who can review your contract and the relevant facts surrounding its making and who should then be able to advise you on a proper course of action.
