Legal Question in Construction Law in Virginia

Rescinding a contract

I have a contract to do home improvement work and the company called me 14 days after signing the contract that they are rescinding the agreement. They said they can do this because ''by law'' they have 20 days to have the agreement reviewed and approved by an officer of the company. Is this correct?

Re: Rescinding a contract

Only if the contract contains a provision which allows for this kind of review and approval by the company officer (unless they can cite a statute in the Code of Virginia which would allow for it).
