Legal Question in Construction Law in Virginia
we wanted to remodel our bathroom, The contractor propose a cost plus contract (that we never signed ) . He presented a budget of 14,000. We have already payed that and the bathroom is not finished on top of that we did the demo, put the tile, paint and more. He claims that we owe him 1000 and we say that the job is not finished, what can we do?
Besides the other bathroom wouldn't work meanwhile, asked him to fix it ( we needed one ) he charged us 900 dollars and the bathroom worked a couple of days, he refuses to do anything else.
Thanks in advance for your answer

Hire someone else to finish the first job, redo the second, and then sue this reneging contractor for reimbursement.
