After 18 months we still have no copy of the contract

In August of 2000, I purchased a new vehicle. To date I still do not have a copy of the financial contracts I signed. I have requested a copy numerous times over the last 18 months, however the financial instiute through which I have the loan has yet to send me a copy of our contract. I have nothing showing me the terms and conditions of our agreement. I am tired of dealing with them on this issue. What rights and recourse do I, as a consumer, have in this situation?

Not much ,and ,no, don't consider withhoding payment until you receive a copy. Your options

amount to the following:

Send the company a certified letter addressed to the president or CEO informing him

of your problem and your intent to make a complaint to the local Better Business Bureau or other local consumer agency if they fail to comply with your request.

If they ignore you, then show up one fine sunny day on their doorstep with copies of whatever you have that relates to the transaction,

even if its only your own moldly sheet showing

your record of payment, and demand to see the person in charge.
