auto finance and refused repo

I have been unable to generate any extra money, I an diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and receive ssdi now, as a consequence, all my obligations are in default. the company who financed my car refuses to take it back and has done all manner of things including telling her supervisor at work to put the deadbeat on the phone, they laughed at me on the phone and said they are not subject to fdcpa. I can not get an attorney to assist as i have no money. daily i faced with buy food for my kids or medicine for myself. If i could afford an attorney I would jave one. my wife became so upset at work that her work sent her to the hospital in some sort of hysterics, apparently the have called her there and she did not want to upset me further. If i could find an attorney that would take consignment/contingent. I do not know what to do now. do any of you attorneys have a suggestion?

Contact the State or local bar association for referral to local legal services that helps those economically eligible.

Sorry to hear that all is not well. You may be able to get assistance from an organization called Legal Aid. In Northern Va it's called Legal Services of Northern Virginia. There's also the Virginia Legal Aid Society. Good luck.
