Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
used automobile agreement
My husband purchased a used vehicle from a small dealership in our town. The vehicle was inspected the day we picked up the car (that was the day he signed contract). When he got it home there was no muffler on the car, a tail lite lens was broke and the light doesn't work, the windows will not roll down (electric)(worked when he test drove it), horn doesn't work (worked when test drove it), but the vehicle ''supposely'' passed inspection. It has a 06/09 inspection sticker on it. It has been less than 24 ours since he signed contract. Does he have any legal right to get his money back for down payment?

Re: used automobile agreement
Only if the contract contains a provision giving him such a right. (I assume that the vehicle was sold "AS IS" with no more than a 30 day warranty for major parts.)
Virginia Lemon Law applies only to the purchase of new vehicles.
