Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Automobile Information
I took a vechile and trade it to another vechile and there was a lean in the first vechile, but I forgot about it. But the dealer said they got the information and everthing was fine they were going to pay off the car, now their saying they did not know about the lean. We already sined over the power of attorney to the dealer. So should they have to pay it and the lean off or are we responsible. So what do I do?

Re: Automobile Information
If part of the trade in deal was that the dealer would pay off the balance owed on the vehicle, then the dealer should simply pay off the balance and have their attorney contact the note holder to execute a release of the lien.
