Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Blown engine same day as purchase
I purchased a used car, half down half due in a month. Immediately after driving it home, the engine started rattling and I discovered it was only firing on 2 of the 4 cylinders. This could be anything from a fuel injector to a cracked head. This happened within 3 hours of driving the car off the lot. It came with a limited warranty of half off parts and labor for the first 30 days. Do I have any legal recourse if they refuse to either take the car back and refund me my money, or to fix it without charge?

Re: Blown engine same day as purchase
If you purchased the vehicle with only the very limited warranty you've described, unless you were deliberately misled about the condition of the engine's cylinders in a manner which might rise to the level of fraud(provable by clear and convincing evidence), I'd surmise that you're probably stuck.
