Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

Business moving without notification

Chuck Norris Karate studio had two locations, one in Va Bch and the other in Norfolk. The studio in Virginia Bch has closed, and the owner wanted the participants to use the Norfolk's studio. I have on numerous occasions contacted the owner regarding this, for Norfolk is not the studio that I signed a contract for. The owner has ignored my messages, on one occasion I actually spoke with the owner, and he said that after he review my account he would see what we could do; however, a week or two later I received a past due notice. I called the owner extremely upset, for one my account can not be past due, since my payments are automatically sent via my bank, and two he is obviously ignoring me again. So, my question is do I have any protection from this? Oh, and I have already contacted the BBB regarding this issue.

Re: Business moving without notification

It appears the karate studio is breaching their end of the contract. For something like this, it'd be silly to hire an attorney, but a letter from an attorney will do the trick 9 times out of 10. Let me know if I can help, [email protected]. Good luck.
