Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
buying used cars
I purchased a used 1990 Ford Taurus 4 door car. It has been not quite three months yet and it cut off on me and will not crank up. I give the car gas but the it still cuts off. I have called to where I purchased the car from they think it is my gas pump. Is this what you call a bad lemon.

Re: buying used cars
Yeah, the vehicle sure sounds at least a little "lemony" based upon your description of matters, but I'd say it's still somewhat premature to pronounce it a "bad lemon". You probably bought it "AS IS" without more than a 30 day warranty on the power train which by now. of course, has already expired.
However, if the problem is only a fuel pump, it should not be that expensive to have it fixed and the car may yet provide you with some decent service for the modest price which you presumably paid
for it.
