Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
A cable company did not disclose (when I rented and picked up the DVR) that they would keep my deposit of $275.00 for a DVR when I terminated my account and returned the box to them. They only said that if I keep my payments current with no late fees for twelve concurrent months, I would get the deposit back. I only had the DVR for ten months. There were no contracts. The are selling their company to another company this week. I do not know if they are going out of business (Jet Broadband). Do you think I have a case for small claims court?

Yes, send a demand letter ASAP for the return of your deposit. And, if it
doesn't happen, file your case in small claims court.
