Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
A car repair shop will not give me my car back. They gave me a list of work to be done on my car and I told them I could not afford it. They then told me they already did the work and I must pay before I can get my car back.
Since I never agreed to have the work done, am I required to pay? Does the fact that they gave me a partial list of what needed to be done constitute an agreement? They also stated the work they said they did does not fix the car. It is still undriveable. How do I get my car back?

Better arrange first to discuss this matter with an attorney so that he/she
can review this partial list with the related facts to determine whether such may constitute your approval for the work the shop is now claiming was done, and,
who then should be able to advise you as to an appropriate course of action.
