Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Used Car Sale
I'm 17 years old and bought a car from a dealer. The same day I went to show it to my mom and the engine blew. We thought VA had a law that dealers had to give you a three day grace period, but it's not a law. I was wondering if we could get him on selling a car to a minot. My parents didn't sign anything and he didn't check my driver's liscence. Is it a law in VA that you have to be 18 years old to buy a car? I don't live with my parents, incase it makes any difference.

Re: Used Car Sale
Minors under the age of 18 in most jurisdictions, including Virginia, are permitted to disaffirm(reject)their contractual obligations, unless those obligations involve the so-called necessaries of life, such as food, clothing, and shelter.
A car would not normally fall in this category.
